    Retainer Option: In addition to individual assignments and projects, I work with a few clients for a monthly retainer, with the option of a six-month or twelve-month contract.

    A 12-month contract includes:

    Engaging a professional writer on retainer saves you the costs of office space, equipment, SS taxes and benefits packages that are required for staff writers. The monthly retainer is less expensive than ordering items à la carte at $100 per hour. And the annual cost can often be defrayed with a single dedicated gift by a major donor who values the importance of communication.

Consulting: I evaluate an existing communication protocol—from business cards and letterhead to newsletters and annual reports—and recommend ways to more clearly and effectively communicate a client’s unique message and mission to target populations.
